XT73 Clinical Restorative Masks — The First Responder
Barrier Restoration. Intensive Nourishment.
Optimal Recovery for Every Skin That Needs It.
The Cosmacure XT73 is a medical-grade bio-cellulose mask engineered to deliver maximum nourishment, hydration, and barrier restoration in the immediate post-treatment window. At the moment when the skin is most receptive — and most in need — XT73 floods the skin with clinically active moisture and restorative actives, modulates the inflammatory cascade, and creates the optimal biological environment for recovery and outcomes to fully develop. Clinicians consistently report an immediate and striking improvement in skin condition post-application: exceptional hydration saturation, markedly reduced erythema, and a visibly luminous, recovered appearance that clients can both see and feel — and that prevents the post-procedural dryness and epidermal desquamation common in the days following intensive treatments.
This is not a cosmetic sheet mask. This is the clinical first responder — designed to protect what your treatment started and give the skin everything it needs to maximise what comes next.
When to Select XT73
Primary Protocol
Nourishment & Barrier Restoration
Selected when barrier repair, intensive nourishment, and optimal recovery are the clinical priority. Applied 0–30 min post-treatment; continued at home for 48–72h. For intensive procedures, a 3-mask course (one per day) supports the skin continuously through its recovery journey.
Combined Protocol
XT73 with HPT78
Where clinically appropriate, XT73 may be used in the immediate post-treatment window with HPT78 introduced once barrier has stabilised (24–72h) — for suitable candidates where firming amplification is also an objective.
XT73 is appropriate for every patient, every treatment type, every skin type — with no contraindications. Selection between XT73 and HPT78 as the primary post-treatment protocol is a clinical assessment decision. Read the clinical research →

Clinical Benefits
Where XT73 Is Indicated
XT73 is indicated wherever skin barrier support, intensive nourishment, and post-treatment recovery are the primary clinical objective. It is always appropriate across all treatment types, skin types, and Fitzpatrick classifications. The following are its primary indications:
For RF, HIFU, and microcurrent treatments, the choice between XT73 and HPT78 is a clinical assessment decision based on the patient’s skin condition and treatment objectives. Both are valid primary selections for suitable candidates. Where a combined approach is appropriate, XT73 may be used in the immediate post-treatment window with HPT78 introduced once barrier has stabilised (24–72h).
The XT73 Active Complex
| Active | Clinical Role |
|---|---|
| Low-MW Hyaluronic Acid (5–50kDa) | Penetrates beyond the disrupted stratum corneum; dermal hydration and keratinocyte migration support |
| High-MW Hyaluronic Acid | Immediate surface hydration, visible plumping and TEWL reduction |
| Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5) | Barrier lipid synthesis cofactor; accelerates barrier recovery and reduces erythema duration post-laser and post-peel |
| Beta-Glucan (β-1,3/1,6) | Selective anti-inflammatory via macrophage modulation; preserves beneficial repair response while reducing excessive inflammation |
| Niacinamide (Vitamin B3, 4%) | Inhibits melanosome transfer; ceramide synthesis support; reduces PIH risk across all Fitzpatrick types |
| Centella Asiatica Extract | Wound healing support; anti-inflammatory; collagen production stimulus |
| Allantoin | Promotes keratinocyte proliferation and re-epithelialisation; reduces post-treatment sensitivity |
The Bio-Cellulose Delivery Advantage
XT73 uses a medical-grade bio-cellulose substrate produced through bacterial fermentation — not a standard cotton or hydrogel sheet. The difference is clinically significant in the post-treatment environment:
Second-skin conformity
Nanofibrillar structure conforms to every facial contour — no lifting, no air gaps, uninterrupted ingredient contact across the entire treatment area
Sustained-release kinetics
Holds up to 100x its weight in moisture; releases actives slowly and consistently over the contact period rather than dumping and evaporating
Enhanced penetration
Nano-scale fibres drive actives deeper than standard cotton or hydrogel carriers — particularly relevant in the disrupted post-treatment skin state
Cooling & calming on contact
Naturally soothing on sensitised post-procedure skin; clients feel the clinical difference from the moment of application
Application Protocol
Complete procedure as normal. Cleanse and prepare skin.
Apply XT73 within 5 minutes of treatment completion onto clean skin. Smooth from centre outward, moulding firmly to facial contours.
Leave on for 20–30 minutes under clinical supervision. Mask will actively cool, calm, and deliver throughout this window.
Remove and gently press remaining serum into skin — do not rinse.
Follow with barrier-support moisturiser if required. Apply SPF before client leaves. For intensive post-treatment recovery protocols (e.g. microneedling), prescribe a 3-mask take-home course — one application per day across the immediate recovery window — to nourish and support the skin continuously through its repair journey.
Pro tip: Refrigerate XT73 for 30 minutes pre-application for an enhanced calming and vasoconstrictive effect — particularly effective post-microneedling, chemical peel, and ablative laser.
Part of the Cosmacure Dual-Mask System
XT73 & HPT78: Two Products. Two Clinical Objectives. One System.
XT73 is selected when barrier restoration, intensive nourishment, and recovery are the clinical priority. Where the primary objective is collagen stimulation and firming amplification — and the patient meets the candidacy criteria — the HPT78 Clinical Firming Mask is the appropriate selection. Either mask may be chosen as the primary post-treatment protocol; both may also be used in combination where clinically appropriate.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use XT73 immediately after microneedling? +
Yes — and this is one of XT73's primary indications. The bio-cellulose creates a protective, active-delivering seal over the needled skin without risk of irritation. Beta-Glucan and Centella Asiatica are particularly effective at reducing post-needling redness and supporting channel recovery. For standard microneedling (1–2mm) in suitable candidates, Protocol B applies: XT73 immediately, then transition to HPT78 Firming at 24–72h once the barrier has stabilised.
Is XT73 suitable for post-chemical-peel application? +
Yes. XT73 is specifically formulated for the disrupted skin barrier state that follows chemical exfoliation — at all depths. For superficial peels (glycolic, lactic), Protocol B applies for suitable candidates: XT73 immediately, HPT78 Firming after 24–48h. For medium-depth peels (TCA 15–25%), Protocol A applies: XT73 immediately and continued at home for 48–72h, with no stimulating actives until barrier is confirmed stable. For deep peels, Protocol A only.
What's the difference between XT73 and HPT78? +
XT73 and HPT78 serve two distinct clinical objectives within the same post-treatment system. XT73 is the first responder: its active complex is built around barrier stabilisation, anti-inflammatory modulation, and creating the optimal conditions for the skin's repair cascade. It is appropriate for every patient and every treatment type. HPT78 is the amplifier: its peptide-driven active complex stimulates fibroblast activity and collagen synthesis to extend and amplify treatment outcomes. It is appropriate for suitable candidates where the primary objective is firming and remodelling, not urgent repair. For most moderate-disruption procedures, the answer is both — sequentially.
Is XT73 suitable for sensitive and reactive skin types? +
Yes. XT73 is formulated without fragrance, alcohol, or known irritants. The active complex is calming by design and safe across all Fitzpatrick types, including skin with a history of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, rosacea-prone skin, and highly sensitised or compromised barriers. There are no contraindications.
Can clients take XT73 home between appointments? +
Yes — and we recommend it as part of the structured take-home protocol. Prescribing XT73 for the 48–72 hours following a procedure extends the clinical benefit of your in-clinic application, improves compliance with post-treatment care, and generates retail revenue. A box of 5 is an ideal starter prescription post-procedure.
How does bio-cellulose differ from a standard sheet mask? +
Standard cotton or hydrogel sheet masks sit on top of the skin and allow significant evaporation of actives. Bio-cellulose — produced through bacterial fermentation — forms a second-skin seal that holds actives in sustained contact with the skin surface, releasing them slowly and consistently rather than evaporating rapidly. The nanofibrillar structure also drives actives more effectively into the epidermis. In the post-treatment state, where the barrier is disrupted and permeability is elevated, this delivery profile is clinically meaningful.
Can XT73 be used on compromised or damaged skin as a standalone treatment? +
Yes. While XT73 is optimised for post-procedure recovery, it is equally effective as a clinical intervention for ongoing barrier compromise — over-exfoliated skin, rosacea flares, eczema-prone skin, post-isotretinoin sensitivity, and acne-related inflammation. In these cases it functions as a standalone barrier-repair and calming treatment rather than a post-procedure recovery tool.
Cosmacure Clinical Philosophy
Post-treatment skin is not in a passive state. It is actively repairing, signalling, and building. XT73 is designed to support that process at the most critical moment.
